INTERGEO EAST 2005:
Position as biggest industry event in South-East Europe confirmed.
Zagreb , Thursday, 10 March 2005.
INTERGEO EAST, the trade fair and conference for geodesy, geoinformation and land management, which closed its doors on Wednesday, 9 March, has successfully confirmed its position as the meeting point of the industry in South-East Europe. 80 exhibitors from 17 countries and 3,000 expert visitors to the trade fair as well as the 850 conference delegates representing 22 nations came to the INTERGEO EAST, which took place for the second time. This proved clearly that the show has again fulfilled its important role, not least as an exchange for knowledge and information. "The annual change of venue in South-East Europe supports newly developing markets. This makes the INTERGEO EAST the ideal communication forum for the industry sectors of geodesy, geoinformation and land management. What started successfully in Belgrade in 2004 has continued seamlessly in Zagreb", says Olaf Freier, HINTE GmbH's Managing Director and Project Manager, summarising the positive outcome of the three day event in the Croatian capital.
"The concept has paid off", says Alexander Zweyer, Technical Manager for South-East Europe, Leica Geosystems GmbH, a company which jointly with its Croatian partner Geowild d.o.o. has used the INTERGEO EAST for the second time to successfully present its products and solutions. HINTE GmbH in co-operation with CongrExpo d.o.o., who are based in Belgrade, were responsible for the organisation of the trade fair. Many of this year's exhibitors who participated for the first time rated the trade fair very highly. A number of companies already confirmed in Zagreb that they would come to the INTERGEO EAST 2006 in Belgrade. Due to the positive feedback the conceptual link with the INTERGEO 2005 in Germany, that will take place from 4 to 6 October in the halls of the exhibition centre in Düsseldorf, will be strengthened to encourage the continuing cross-border dialogue even more.
This year the Third Croatian Cadastral Conference and the Regional Round Table for Land Administration created the basis for the high quality knowledge transfer at the INTERGEO EAST conference. Beside those responsible from cadastral and surveying offices representatives from the World Bank, the German Technical Cooperation (Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit - GTZ) and sponsors from other countries took part in the discussion of the development status in the relevant South-East European states. One important decision was that the Round Table should from now on always take place in conjunction with the INTERGEO EAST.
The Geo Community, which was initiated in the run-up to the INTERGEO 2004, has also become an essential part of the INTERGEO EAST. After a very positive response from exhibiting companies a large number of registered visitors used the Internet based Community Link on www.intergeo-east.com to gain access to the most recent developments, trends or standards. They could in a targeted way and already ahead of the INTERGEO EAST obtain information about the company, the organisation or the association they were interested in.
The INTERGEO EAST 2006 will take place at the beginning of March 2006 in Belgrade, the largest city in Serbia and Montenegro that already hosted the inaugural event in 2004.
